How to Emit the Salvage Title on your Vehicle
Remember, you cannot drive your vehicle that has a salvage title on public roads. It is against the law and doing that may bring you to prison. Salvage cars have been through a lot, like being flooded or totaled after an accident, therefore, its performance is not really guaranteed compared to a second-hand or brand new vehicle.
If you have purchased a salvaged vehicle, obviously the paper that goes with it states that its previous condition, thus the “salvaged title.” Because of the issues that may go with it, you can have it retitled. You have to thoroughly have your vehicle fixed to ensure that it acquires its roadworthiness once again. When you think it works perfectly once again, you have to fill-up forms from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), submit some important documentations, and basically set the time as to when the inspection will occur. When your vehicle passes the inspection, the inspector will attach a decal on your vehicle stating that it has successfully passed.
The last step still requires a lot of paperwork. You will be guided by the DMV about the succeeding documents and forms that you have to work on, and all the fees that you need to settle for rebranding. When these have been settled, you will then acquire the “rebuilt title” for your salvaged vehicle.
